Things to consider when buying your Beach Towel PDF Print E-mail

The beach towel is one of the most under estimated accessories you own. Have you ever gone to the beach or the pool without one? No place to lie, no way to dry off and if you do find some place clean enough to lie down then it’s probably too hot to be comfortable. Without a good beach towel your trip quality goes downhill but finding the right beach towel is easier said than done. There are three things you need to think about when trying to decide which beach towel is the right one for you design, material and size.

Beach Towel Design

What do I want my beach towel to say about me?

What beach towel design is right for you? Are you in a sassy mood and prefer something a little more traditional like stripped towels. Do you want something personalized with your name and your favorite team? You can even get your own picture or get your own saying monogrammed onto the towel you choose. Pick the towel that represents you best and remember, your creativity is the only limit.

Beach Towel Material

What type of material should your beach towel be?

100% cotton is the most common material used when making beach towels. Beach towels that are made from 100% cotton tend to be thinner and a little rougher but this allows for these towels to dry quickly and take up less space when packing it up. You can’t go wrong with a towels made of 100% but I recommend this towel in particular if you buying it for a trip or you are going to be toting it around a lot.

Egyptian cotton is the Cadillac of cottons. Obviously the cotton comes from Egypt and is known to be stronger and more durable than other cottons. Beach towels made of Egyptian cotton are going to typically be thicker and a little softer to the feel. On the down side, with quality comes cost and size. This towel is going to cost you more than other beach towels made of other materials and they also are going to take up more room when you pack them up.

Cotton Velour is another option when picking the material of your beach towel. Beach towels made of cotton velour are tightly woven and therefore seems much softer to the touch. The drawback is there are more fibers per square inch so they not only take up the most room but they also take the longest to dry. This beach towel is great if you want to use it to lay on due to the thinness and the softness.

Beach Towel Size

Do you need a oversized beach towel?

Finally you need to decide what size you towel you want. There are several reasons that a beach or pool towel needs to be the correct size. If the sand or your pool chair is hot then you are limited to the area that your beach towel covers, therefore you need to make sure that your beach towel covers an area large enough for you to lay on. There are big beach towels available. I am freakishly tall so most times I have to use a shirt to extend the length of my towel.

Hopefully now when you see the various beach towels available out there you will understand the price differences and be able to pick which beach towel is perfect for you and your needs.
